Olja Savičević Ivančević was born in 1974 in Split. She is a professor of Croatian language and literature and is currently enrolled in an MA program in literature. She is a columnist of the Slobodna Dalmacija daily. She writes fiction, poetry, essays, scripts. She edited the Croatian section of the new short story anthology Na Trećem trgu (Belgrade, 2006). She authored three collections of poetry, first one when she was only 14. Her short story collection Nasmijati psa (Zagreb, 2006) was awarded the Vijenac literary magazine and AGM publisher’s award for best work of fiction. The same book now awaits its German and Slovene editions. Her stories had been translated into Slovene, English and German. Her poems had been translated into English, French, Czech, Macedonian, English and German. She took part in international literary events such as Days of Poetry and Wine in Medana (Slovenia) and Ars Poetica (Slovakia).
